Guy Whissel - President and Founder
Guy Whissel , the founder of Longwood, has been involved in some of the most successful communities in the Ottawa region. With over 35 years experience in the residential, commercial and condominium market brings a wealth of knowledge to his team. He has learned not to just appreciate the difference quality makes but to insist upon it.
After graduating in Architectural Technology, Guy served as Construction Manager at Minto Homes and General Area Manager for Sandbury Homes before starting Longwood Building Corporation in 1988.
Involved in the community, Guy was President of the Ottawa Carleton Home Builders Association and served on the Board of Directors of La Cité Collegiale.
Richard G. Martineau - Business and Development Manager
Before accepting an invitation to manage the residential branch of the "Longwood Team", Richard had expanded his knowledge base in many areas of expertise. Starting as an Architectural graduate, his career proceeded with Minto for 12 years as Customer Care Manager and then he accumulated 18 years of valuable experience in the "Public Sector" as a Member of the Executive Team at the City of Cumberland later assuming the position of Commissioner of Physical Environment. At present he also manages all Customer Care and Development issues and is an indispensable part of the Longwood team.
Flo Filion - Commercial Project Manager
As a newcomer to the Longwood's team, Flo expands Longwood's expertise in the condominium sector. Flo has over 30 years of experience in the construction industry and has put his touch on many projects across the City over the years. He has also been involved in projects as far as Turks & Caicos and Nunavut. He was involved in building condos in the late 80's with Clarksmith Development. Later on, Flo built a number of projects for Routeburn Developments and then spent eight years with Charlesfort Developments. Flo's expertise and his years of teaching at community colleges and his dedication to building a great product make him a great asset and bodes well with our commitment to building beautiful condominium projects.
Pierre St-Denis - Construction Manager
Pierre has worked for Longwood since 1989. Pierre had experience building homes, framing and roofing and has hands-on experience with the building industry. Over the years Pierre has moved up the ladder from service to assistant Site Superintendent to his current position overseeing all of Longwood's building sites as Construction Manager. With all of Pierre's experience dealing with all trades and supervising all construction for the past 19 years Longwood has developed a tried and true Construction team.
Darice Greene - Sales and Marketing Manager
Darice has been working in the Homebuilding Industry since 1981 in the Ottawa Region. She started working for another major Builder/Developer, Urbandale Construction, as sales Assistant and soon moved up to a sales position. After a few years the opportunity arose to work with the Vice President of Construction where she gained invaluable knowledge of the building industry. Darice then moved onto a Sales management position.
The opportunity came for Darice to join The Longwood Team in 1995 where she now manages the Longwood Sales Team. In addition to being the sales manager for Longwood Darice is responsible for all the marketing, the advertising and ensuring all Longwood purchasers are given the utmost sales service on all the current sites.
Lise Laflamme - Customer Service Representative
Lise brings over twenty years of customer experience from both the retail and wholesale sector. As part of our team since 2004, Lise's good humor and people skills guides you through the pre-delivery inspection of your home and any warranty matters that may arise. Her hands on approach, her good sense of humour and personal persistence is appreciated by our sub trades and homebuyers alike. Her motto is "No such thing as a problem but an opportunity for a Solution".
Joel Dumont - Controller
As a Chartered Professional Accountant with a designation in Management Accounting, Joel brings 14 years of progressive accounting experience. He is responsible for the analysis, interpretation and communication of financial results and projections; the control of funds; the development and maintenance of accounting and internal management information systems; He also overlooks and ensures compliance of internal controls, accounting policies and the implementation of financial strategies. Joel's leadership skills and strategic vision brings added value to the Longwood Team.
